A little bit of Joyful Support directly in your inbox!
Ever feel like your to-do list is an endless cycle of chores and home tasks? This week, we’re diving into the world of household responsibilities – not because we love them (who does?), but because mastering them can create more space in our lives for what truly matters.
From cleaning strategies to time-saving hacks, we’re exploring ways to make these necessary tasks less overwhelming and more manageable. Because sometimes, the key to finding more joy isn’t about adding more to your plate – it’s about making the everyday stuff easier.
Joy Happenings
A little change up this week, Sara is going to share part of her story in theme with this week.
Cleaning chores have provided a lot of opportunity for me. Determined to travel in my 20s , and needing a way to pay for it, I became a stewardess on a cruise ship. Cleaning and serving tables allowed me to see the coastlines of North, Central, and South America for 2.5 years. For every bed I changed and toilet I scrubbed, I got to see a new city and stunning views.
And after moving to a new state with no connections and a little one to care for, cleaning and completing household chores for others allowed me to have a flexible schedule and work only when my son was in school.
My experience and knowledge with managing spaces does not come from a deep seated passion for cleanliness. It was an avenue to allow me to pursue the things I was passionate about. And now I get to take my years of experience doing the dirty work to show you how to do it easier. I am even starting a series on social media teaching you the basics of cleaning!
Here at Joyful Support Movement, that is what we want for you. How can you make the day to day easier so you can have more time and energy for the things you are passionate about?
If you could magically make one chore disappear forever, which one would it be?
Sara would erase cleaning the oven from the face of the earth if she could. Bending over at odd angles, either using yucky cleaning chemicals or scrubbing until all her elbow grease is gone. No, thank you. But like still ‘yes, thank you’ to actually having a clean oven. No shame in dreaming!
