Welcome back, friends, to Season 2 of No Shame in The Home Game! This episode is all about embracing home management without any judgment, because, hey, we all know it’s about how it makes us feel, not just how it looks, right? We’re absolutely thrilled to be back, and we can’t wait to dive into this season with you. It’s been a journey filled with a few tears, a whole lot of joy, and the absolute pleasure of helping our participants find their groove at home.
Again this season, we’re featuring three incredibly brave participants, each at different stages in their lives, all with the common goal of making their homes work a little bit better for them. We’re going to share a bit about each of our participants – the amazing Tirra, the inspiring Ashley, and the incredible Theresa. Each of them has their own unique challenges and journeys with home management, and we can’t wait for you to meet them.
And hey, we’ve got something special for you too! We’re introducing the Home CEO course, specifically designed to help you get a handle on your own home management. But don’t worry, we’re all in this together, and there’s no judgment here, promise!
To wrap up this episode, we just want to share a few personal moments of gratitude. We might even talk about some of our other interests that aren’t exactly home-related, just to end things on a warm, cozy note. Thanks for tuning in, and we can’t wait to embark on this journey with you!

Welcome to No Shame in the Home Game, the podcast that cares
2
:how your home feels, not looks.
3
:I am Lacey, your co
host here in season two.
4
:We're so excited.
5
:And here is Sara, our, hostess
with the mostest co host.
6
:Welcome.
7
:Hi, Sara.
8
:Sara: Hi, Lacey!
9
:I am so excited to hear that season two.
10
:I just, my heart is overflowed with joy.
11
:I can feel the tears coming up.
12
:This is, I've wanted this for so
long to help more people and it
13
:feels like it's coming together
and this season is so beautiful.
14
:It just, it fills my heart with joy.
15
:It's so beautiful.
16
:It's weird because I'm telling
the audience who hasn't listened
17
:yet, but we know what's coming.
18
:And it has reaffirmed the work that I do.
19
:I'm putting that joy ripple out
there and I can actually feel it.
20
:I can see it happening and it's so cool.
21
:Do you feel the
22
:Lacey: Absolutely, and I think, for
me, this season's a little different
23
:because, 1, I'm not a participant.
24
:you'll get updates about me and Joe
in our home and that kind of stuff.
25
:I'm sure and our postseason stuff, but
I, I don't know these people as well.
26
:our participant, Alex, she's
1 of my dearest friends.
27
:I really don't know these people and it's
been so fascinating to really come in as
28
:a complete outsider and hear these people
because all three of our participants are
29
:really in different stages of life, too.
30
:they've got different things going on.
31
:And so to hear how that.
32
:A lot of the same things, as I
know you've said before, Sara come
33
:up for them that come up for me.
34
:I just.
35
:I would say that I think there are a lot
more tearful moments this season too.
36
:idea what
37
:Sara: see the extension of your feelings
and the history and how it's affecting
38
:the feelings of those in your house, when
you really go into that mindset, That's
39
:when magic really starts to unlock.
40
:And I think season two feels a lot
different too, because with season one,
41
:season one, it was our first time around.
42
:Like we were really getting
our footing with the format and
43
:how we wanted to frame things.
44
:And so I felt like this season, I felt
like we were able to get to the meat
45
:of it a little bit quicker, which.
46
:Is worth to me.
47
:I love that part.
48
:I, that's the part I wanna get.
49
:I wanna get into the good juicy inside.
50
:I felt like it was more, I don't
wanna say compact, that's not the
51
:right word, but it was more hearty.
52
:I don't know, do, what's
the word I'm looking for?
53
:Like that mors, that
goody morsel was there
54
:Lacey: It's juicy,
55
:it's, yeah, you get to
the heart of it faster,
56
:Sara: two is juicy.
57
:Lacey: we'll tell you more this season
later on, but Sara and I wanted to take
58
:the opportunity in this 1st episode
of the season to just reintroduce
59
:you to how this is going to work,
what we hope you come into it mindset
60
:wise with and all of that stuff.
61
:So just a quick reminder that
here at No Shame in the Home Game.
62
:We are going to tell the story of our
three participants who are making changes
63
:over the course of three months, and
we are going to check in with them.
64
:Every month to see, how
suggestions that Sara has made
65
:change things and adjustments.
66
:And so we're going to get
to visit them 3 times.
67
:And each time we get a little bit
deeper into their home and how
68
:it runs and why it runs the way
that it runs really to highlight.
69
:We all have a lot of the same issues.
70
:And a lot of the same hangups
and that we are not alone when
71
:it comes to our home management.
72
:Check
73
:Sara: Which is exactly the core
root of why I started, why I
74
:invented home management consulting.
75
:Because I was in so many homes,
and I was hearing the same thing.
76
:Things don't feel good, they're
not smooth, everyone else can do
77
:it better, I don't know what to do.
78
:But we weren't all saying it in the open.
79
:And that's why I feel like No
Shame is so powerful, because
80
:it's taking away that facade.
81
:Of peachy keen, and we can all just
admit, I want this to feel better.
82
:How do you do it?
83
:Right?
84
:So the goal is, is that you listen.
85
:And Lacey said, there's going
to be something inside that
86
:you're going to connect with.
87
:It may not be each
participant's origin story.
88
:It may not be each of the
participants particular.
89
:Cause we hone in on one thing
that we want to work on.
90
:Because that's realistic with
three episodes, we're not going to
91
:tackle everything, but you might
hear something, a mindset, a tip,
92
:a tool, something that is going to
go, Oh, that's something I can use.
93
:And I also want to remind our audience.
94
:we are so appreciative that these three
participants are opening up the door
95
:to their home and they're showing us
the inner workings of their house.
96
:And that's a vulnerable space.
97
:So let's just take a moment to appreciate.
98
:I always hear about those shows
where it's couples therapy or
99
:something where it's a reality show.
100
:And these people are being
like so vulnerable, right?
101
:And I'm like, wow, like that's a strength
to be that, that open and vulnerable.
102
:So let's honor and respect that the people
are showing us what isn't feeling good.
103
:And they're willing to share
that for the benefit of others.
104
:Lacey: Yeah, and I think it's also
important to highlight that people
105
:can be vulnerable like this when it
is an environment of no judgment.
106
:And that's right.
107
:No shame.
108
:We are not here to judge.
109
:How they do things.
110
:We're not here to judge how we do things.
111
:It is a shame free space where
we're tackling the problem as
112
:it is not as we think it should
be or all of these other things.
113
:I think it's important for
you, dear listener to remember.
114
:There ain't no judgment here.
115
:This is a judgment free zone and
hopefully that can also lead into
116
:your own home management to stop the
judgment because it's hard not to.
117
:Sara: Well, and on that note.
118
:I love that whole thing
from that hair club for men.
119
:I'm not just the president.
120
:I'm a member too.
121
:Like every time I do one of these
episodes, I'm reminded of the shame
122
:and the guilt that I, I may not
realize cause it's not screaming, but
123
:I uncover another layer for myself.
124
:Oh, I'm actually really draining
my energy when I shame myself for.
125
:I don't know, not making more
nutritious meals every single
126
:day of the week, or when I'm not
nailing my grocery plan every week.
127
:So it is also reminding me how much
I need to, not forgive isn't the
128
:right word, but accept, just accept.
129
:Because life, is not always
a bowl of sunshine and roses.
130
:And Life just keeps happening,
which during this season, you will
131
:actually hear with our participants.
132
:We really embrace what life is
throwing at each of our participants.
133
:We roll with it.
134
:There's always this feeling of oh,
I'm sorry I didn't get to ABC because
135
:of All these things that happen
and it's just yep, that's life.
136
:Yep.
137
:Let's, we're not going to edit out life.
138
:This is what's really
happening behind in your house.
139
:and let's fold it in because good
intentions are awesome, but then we
140
:have to flex and allow for reality.
141
:Lacey: I think another thing this
season that we really highlight to.
142
:that is so beneficial for me.
143
:Is the fact that just one tiny
step moves you closer to what
144
:you want and how you feel.
145
:No adjustment is too big, too small.
146
:Whatever feels the best is the right path.
147
:And we've talked about
this many a times before.
148
:Your house is different than their house.
149
:It's different than my house.
150
:It's different to Sara's house.
151
:And what needs to be
done is different too.
152
:Very much just, I love our little
space of no judgment and this is how
153
:it is and all of that good stuff.
154
:Sara: I love it too.
155
:I feel like a mama bird.
156
:Have you ever actually seen a chicken when
the little baby chicks go under the mama?
157
:Have you ever seen that?
158
:Lacey: I've never actually seen it.
159
:I, my brain pictured something,
but I don't know if it's right.
160
:Sara: a really safe place to show
up and to not be judged and to
161
:feel like you can share what's
going on and to feel supported.
162
:And that is, the extension of no shame
in the home game and sharing the middle.
163
:It's just mama bird, come here.
164
:Like all you little bit.
165
:Come here.
166
:I want to give you the safe.
167
:My neighbor has chickens.
168
:So I've got to witness a lot
of chicken things and that's.
169
:That's why my analogy went there.
170
:I also really like to mama bird people.
171
:Lacey: you're very good at it.
172
:Sara: so if you're listening to this
season, last season, this season, whatever
173
:you resonate with and if something in
your heart just wait, there's a chicken,
174
:Lacey: Did you call a chicken to you?
175
:You have binoculars right there by you.
176
:Sara: Yeah.
177
:Okay.
178
:So if you listen to season
one, you know, I'm a bird nerd.
179
:Lacey: I'm taking a screenshot of this.
180
:I
181
:Sara: I'm going to have to go mama
bird those chickens after this.
182
:Anyone who's listening, if you get
that little warm, fuzzy feeling.
183
:And you just feel that recognition
of acceptance, what are those
184
:warm fuzzy feelings that you feel
when we're recording or listening?
185
:Lacey, do you get any of those?
186
:I do.
187
:Lacey: What would I call them?
188
:I
189
:Sara: Fuzzy nuggets?
190
:Lacey: don't know.
191
:That sounds a little weird to me.
192
:I think of chicken nuggets and then I
don't want my chicken nuggets to be fuzzy.
193
:We just talked about chickens.
194
:Home tingles, right?
195
:Sara: Thank you.
196
:Hong tingles.
197
:If anyone gets those good
feelings inside, come join.
198
:Like you can get more of those.
199
:That's, that is why Lacey
and I are working together.
200
:Cause we want to spread
those yummy, good feelings.
201
:Mhm.
202
:Mhm.
203
:Sara: One of our participants, Tyra.
204
:Lacey: Lights up.
205
:a room and we feel it
miles and miles away.
206
:She is magnetic and every time we
are done talking to her, Sara and
207
:I both are like, I feel amazing.
208
:She's amazing.
209
:She's magic.
210
:I think is what I said last time.
211
:Sara: I've been so lucky.
212
:I support the participants between
episode recordings and I've done a lot
213
:of back and forth with Tyra over Voxer
So we do audio messages and I texted her
214
:one day and I said your voice is like
sunshine And it was actually a really
215
:good tool for me because when she would
slip into the mindset Sort of that old
216
:mindset that was weighing her down.
217
:I could actually hear it in her
voice and I could see it on her face.
218
:And it was night and day and I was
like, Oh, that's how did we get there?
219
:Okay.
220
:And so when she's in
that sunshine magnetic.
221
:That's when the stuff is happening
and it's unlocking and it's clicking.
222
:And then as soon as those
shame, that's what it was.
223
:It was those shame thoughts.
224
:I don't want to give too much
away, but there's a teaser for you.
225
:you get to witness some
real time shifting.
226
:It's amazing.
227
:Lacey: it is.
228
:So we have, Tyra, who is a retired
homeschool mom and her, process
229
:of turning her home into a post.
230
:School, right?
231
:Going into this aspect of retirement,
being able to focus on herself
232
:and her businesses, she's so cool.
233
:Sara: I want a spinoff podcast called
234
:Lacey: time with Tyra.
235
:Sara: time with Tyra.
236
:Yeah.
237
:I love her story and journey
because it goes to show about how
238
:every phase in your life, it's
different requirements and needs.
239
:Your home serves many
purposes any given day.
240
:But then if you look at different time
periods in your life What needs to happen
241
:really changes and to be aware of that.
242
:And I think that's what we did a lot
for her is to shine the awareness on.
243
:It was a different chapter in her life.
244
:and we get to help her through that.
245
:I went clothes shopping the other day and
I said to the lady, when I was checking
246
:out, I said, Oh, I just got to that
point where I'd open up my closet and
247
:it felt like somebody else's clothes.
248
:So if you're walking around your
house and there's a part of your house
249
:where you just feel like this isn't
mine, like this feels like a previous
250
:version of me or somebody else's.
251
:Yeah, that means you're in a
different chapter in your life.
252
:And you have to
intentionally shift things.
253
:Lacey: it takes time to shift things.
254
:It's not going to happen all at once,
I think is another big thing that we
255
:forget, it's not like, I woke up today
and everything is done for me and it's all
256
:perfect, hunky dory, sunshine rainbows,
no, it takes time, takes emotions,
257
:it takes effort, and it's, Yeah, her
story is special and we adore her,
258
:we are also going to be following Ashley
this season Ashley feels like she has her
259
:life together so much that it almost feels
260
:like she shouldn't need her.
261
:Sara: Yeah.
262
:oh, completely.
263
:So Ashley jokes that me and her are
twin flames, which I think is hilarious.
264
:The work she does, she is an
occupational therapist by training.
265
:And then when lots of things
change, she ended up shifting her
266
:focus to Calendars and planners.
267
:And how do you communicate
as a family unit?
268
:So no one person is, knows
everything that's going on.
269
:And so she applied that
occupational therapy mindset of
270
:reducing the points of friction.
271
:And so the way I see things in a
very tangible way, she's doing.
272
:All of the appointments and lists
and so she's doing all that.
273
:So yes, we speak very
much the same language
274
:and we're talking.
275
:I'm like, I don't, how can I help you?
276
:Lacey: But I think it's really
important and I think that's 1
277
:of the reasons why it's so great.
278
:We're working with her is even people
that we think have everything all
279
:together and perfect and planned and
because her planners are like, beautiful
280
:and simplistic and just gorgeous and.
281
:Sara: wait.
282
:We got to do, shout out dovetail
designs, calendars, planners,
283
:meal systems, analog and digital.
284
:I'm a convert.
285
:Go ahead.
286
:Sorry.
287
:I interrupted you,
288
:Lacey: Even she, and we're
only going to tackle one.
289
:We ended up actually having
quite a few different things
290
:we talked about in her house.
291
:Even she has this strain that is pulling
her energy down, that is not making
292
:her own feel how she wants it and that,
it should be better, should be this.
293
:She also has four kids, which
every time we talk, I'm like,
294
:Oh my gosh, you are amazing.
295
:How do you do this?
296
:Sara: And run a business and
she has multiple animals.
297
:I know.
298
:She's just one of those Energizer bunnies.
299
:What I like about
Ashley's is she very much.
300
:Is already on board with what I call
like the home CEO, junior mindset of
301
:your children are going to be managing
their own living spaces one day.
302
:And so setting them up with the
tools of success, she has a space
303
:that they are supposed to manage,
but she can't be totally hands off.
304
:She's finding that bridge between
how do I let them have this space and
305
:ownership and yet still maintain it.
306
:And It's totally different.
307
:each participant is so different, but
she has a great mindset about that.
308
:She needed help thinking it out of
how do we go about this and tackle it.
309
:Ashley's fun.
310
:Her type of humors.
311
:I like
312
:it.
313
:Lacey: too.
314
:It always takes me by surprise.
315
:That's what I love about it.
316
:Then we have Teresa who, struggles
a lot with meal planning and
317
:feeding her family and all of the
stuff that goes along with that.
318
:Sara: Yes.
319
:So full disclosure, Teresa and I have
known each other for quite a long
320
:time We used to live right around the
corner from one another but we live
321
:in different states now So there's
a level of comfort with Teresa that
322
:you'll hear is a little bit different
323
:so I also know how she approaches things.
324
:So I had, a leg up on knowing
how she was approaching it.
325
:And I really saw with
Teresa mindset was actually.
326
:Going to be more 70 30, 70 percent
mindset, because she was juggling,
327
:as you'll hear, she's juggling a lot.
328
:She kept her expectations the same.
329
:And it's just, I, one of the tenants
I always say is, if you can't dip
330
:into your three buckets of resources,
then expectations need to shift.
331
:And I know we were able to make
a shift with her that was pretty
332
:powerful and was able to unlock a whole
avenue of options once she relaxed
333
:into this new expectation mindset.
334
:And I was really excited for her because
that was really draining her energy.
335
:So that felt powerful too.
336
:Lacey: and, Teresa, she has an
energy that's like a warm blanket
337
:to me of Oh, I just enjoy.
338
:Hearing her talk and it really
helps that spoiler alert.
339
:She gets a puppy and then Sara and I watch
the puppy Wow, she talks at one point.
340
:So there's lots to come with that
341
:, Sara: Theresa is so funny the way she's
just like, let's add this in, she's
342
:almost got a very Alex vibe that way,
343
:where it's just like, yeah,
let's do this and this.
344
:So yeah, the new puppy was funny.
345
:And Also, side note, Teresa's a massage
therapist and I have to say a massage
346
:by Teresa is another worldly experience.
347
:She is so in tune with the body
and the healing and the letting go.
348
:, you can see the way she just she connects
and that's where her strengths are that's
349
:where her so she was expecting Herself
to be not only the best masseuse But the
350
:best home cook and the best Dog trainer
that felt very valuable So that she can
351
:go to work because she loves what she does
But she can go to work and show up and
352
:give the best There goes that ripple that
1 percent ripple so she can show up and
353
:give a 1 percent more to her clients So
they feel 1 percent better going out into
354
:the world that felt really powerful and
again knowing her as a Friend, it means
355
:so much to me to be able to work with her,
356
:Lacey: and I really feel like I she
and I connected about a lot of those
357
:same like Shoulds and all that stuff.
358
:yeah, each of our participants this season
are so cool and special in their own ways.
359
:And I am so honored to be.
360
:Really just a spectator in their journey.
361
:Sara does the work and I'm just
like, oh, my gosh, this is great.
362
:Sara: I couldn't do it without you.
363
:And that's, but that goes back
to some of the tenants of home.
364
:CEO is recognizing what needs to be done.
365
:Who does what better?
366
:And why your values like we're doing
this cause we are very passionate
367
:about helping people enjoy life more.
368
:We know why we're putting the work in.
369
:We know where Lacey's skills are and
they are not where my skills are.
370
:We are very two different
skill set people.
371
:Lacey: Go back and listen to
our human design episodes and
372
:you'll hear a lot about that.
373
:Sara: Every episode we
end, I just feel so good.
374
:Like so warm and gooey.
375
:I always just be like, Oh,
everything's good, man.
376
:Lacey: you are magic.
377
:Our participants each have several
times said in some way or another.
378
:That you are magic.
379
:So of course you feel that way.
380
:Sara: But that's what's so cool
is I'm not magic in a vacuum.
381
:It's a two part chemical formula.
382
:I'm only magic when people are
open to the process and they
383
:do the back and forth with me.
384
:That's where the magic,
it has to be both people.
385
:I can't come in and do anything
unless somebody is showing up.
386
:So there's, Oh, I just got goosebumps.
387
:Cause it is like magic
and it is so much fun.
388
:it's just so much fun when
people are open to it and it's so
389
:Lacey: We, we hope that, our dear
listeners get a little bit of that
390
:magic too, cause it's so great.
391
:It really is.
392
:Sara: It is so good.
393
:Mhm.
394
:Mhm.
395
:Sara: just A reminder too, No
Shame in the Home Game is based
396
:off of the work that I do.
397
:Which we are putting into
a course called home CEO.
398
:Not every single person can
be a participant on the show.
399
:Not every single person I
can work with one on one.
400
:I only have so much time in the day.
401
:I went from one-on-one consulting to doing
a podcast so I could help more people.
402
:And then we created the course
to help even more people.
403
:So if you are looking for solutions and
you like the process and approach that we
404
:do on this podcast, home, CEO is a DIY.
405
:These are the steps, this is how we do it.
406
:And so you can start to
implement some of those steps.
407
:Lacey: And so we've been talking
about OMCEO for over almost a
408
:year now, and it is happening.
409
:we have All the elements all together,
and, we'll be launching it, at the
410
:end of March is our current plan.
411
:it is happening.
412
:for realsies.
413
:Sara: It is happening and I have trusted,
I've really been focusing on it is going
414
:to happen at exactly the right time.
415
:We haven't pushed, we've
been really excited,
416
:Lacey: So
417
:Sara: but we haven't pushed.
418
:We've just allowed each piece to
unfold exactly as it's needed to.
419
:Which feels much better
than pushing the solution.
420
:Lacey: and it also is
getting bigger and bigger.
421
:I feel like every day, we're like,
oh, we should add this, and this video
422
:should go with this worksheet, and da.
423
:that's also part of it.
424
:Sara: I feel very expansive when I did the
home harmony program with Corey Whiteland,
425
:our executive functioning coach expert.
426
:It was supposed to start out as a
20 minute conversation, me and her.
427
:And then that turned into, Hey,
we should make this a course.
428
:I thought it was going to
be three 15 minute videos.
429
:It turned into three 45 minute videos.
430
:So there's just, it's I
want to help everybody.
431
:So I just keep mushrooming it out because
I want it to be more and more, but.
432
:Yes, it's got to just
come out at some point
433
:Lacey: And it will.
434
:Sara: and it will, and it
is, we're in the future now.
435
:It is out.
436
:Lacey: It is out.
437
:We've made it happen.
438
:Got a few
439
:tweaks and finishing work
to do, I personally am not a
440
:home management consultant.
441
:I am barely a home management co host.
442
:I have taken a lot of the tools in HomeCEO
and it has really helped my household.
443
:Every single piece of it is maybe not
going to be for you, and that's fine.
444
:So remember, just one little step.
445
:One percent better.
446
:It's the magic of compound interest.
447
:A little bit, and a little bit.
448
:And over time, it becomes a lot.
449
:Sara: Yes.
450
:And anyone listening, because Lacey
just gave that full disclaimer of
451
:not being a home management expert.
452
:And I just want to say, this is
not something I was born with.
453
:I very much learned through struggle.
454
:Lacey: it's
455
:Sara: good.
456
:How can I do this differently?
457
:I am very much the person who's I've
done this, I've seen what's worked, I've
458
:done this, I've seen what doesn't work.
459
:I've very much been in the trenches,,
I don't want anyone to be intimidated.
460
:You know, when you see the covers on
those like really nice magazines of
461
:everything's color coded and everything's
perfect and nothing's out of place and
462
:there's no dust, that's not what I am.
463
:That's not what this is.
464
:This is.
465
:Let's make your home operation
smoother, whatever that looks like.
466
:Lacey: whatever it looks like, and
hopefully it looks like how you
467
:want it and how it works for your
home and how it makes you feel good.
468
:Sara: This is the start of
a really happy revolution.
469
:Lacey: Absolutely.
470
:Absolutely.
471
:we're excited for you to hear season 2.
472
:since we're kicking off the season
and we're doing our participant
473
:episodes, they are every week.
474
:So every Friday, you'll get a new
episode of no shame in the home game and.
475
:Sara, and I cannot wait
for you to join us.
476
:Sara: We're very excited.
477
:Thanks for coming along with this journey.
478
:Lacey: I'm so excited.
479
:I'm always excited.
480
:We should still do what, what
we're feeling grateful for,
481
:Sara, at the end of this episode.
482
:Sara: Anyone who's new here, we do
Moments of Gratitude at the end.
483
:Which, oh my gosh, full circle,
this is based off of Moments
484
:of Zen from The Daily Show.
485
:Jon Stewart.
486
:Lacey: on Mondays!
487
:Sara: So that's going to be my moment
of happiness because Jon Stewart, he
488
:doesn't know it, but he is sort of a
foundation in my scaffolding of coming
489
:of age, of learning how to think
critically, but with humor, I remember
490
:when he first took over the Daily
Show and that was a staple for me.
491
:And when he left.
492
:it was really, that
was a big thing for me.
493
:And so with him coming back and
it's just on Mondays, but I eat it
494
:up and it is so good for my soul.
495
:And again, it's that whole, like we
can do tough things and still laugh
496
:because if you don't laugh, you're
not going to do the tough things.
497
:Jon Stewart, you are my
masthead on this ship.
498
:Lacey: The ship of life.
499
:Sara: On the ship of life.
500
:I said that just to be silly.
501
:Cause I pictured, like back in the
day when they had like those women,
502
:those busty women and they'd be on the
503
:Lacey: Well it's a
504
:Sara: I was just picturing,
505
:Lacey: She's got the flowing hair
506
:and yeah.
507
:Sara: I just pictured Jon Stewart
like on the front of a ship,
508
:like hanging out over the water.
509
:Lacey: His pen is like poking out.
510
:yeah.
511
:I can see
512
:it.
513
:I see it in my mind's eye.
514
:I am, feeling grateful for
historical romance novels and genre.
515
:I had a strong historical romance
period in my, Late teens, and right now
516
:I've just picked it back up, and the
joy that it brings me, it just does.
517
:specifically really into Tessa
Dare books right now, NBD.
518
:don't tell me what to read, because
then I'll resent it and then not read
519
:it, because that's what I did with
Bridgerton, is everybody was like, watch
520
:Bridgerton, and I'm like, don't tell me
what to do, and I just not watched it.
521
:So, I am feeling grateful for the books
themselves, but also, rediscovering a
522
:part of myself that I haven't, enjoyed, I
don't know, it's just, it's making me very
523
:happy because I'm thinking of, my friend
who I've read them with and we would talk
524
:about them and it was, like, scandalous
for us, and all of those different things.
525
:So I'm just really, I'm enjoying
and basking in that enjoyment.
526
:Sara: I love that for you.
527
:Oh.
528
:Yeah, that's your joy fuel.
529
:I love
530
:Lacey: it.
531
:it is, And I also, it's a, I think
when I was younger, it was a shameful
532
:thing that I liked my romance novels,
specifically historical romance, because
533
:they usually get like the, they get
made fun of for the Fabio on the front
534
:type thing and that kind of stuff.
535
:And it's no, I know a lot
about:
536
:Do you?
537
:Sara: you were gonna, I thought,
and I was looking forward to you
538
:more specifically saying, I know
a lot about:
539
:Do you?
540
:Nazimulai, tell me more.
541
:We just discovered a new spinoff podcast.
542
::
543
:Lacey: I will say, I don't know
how accurate these books are.
544
:they're definitely through
a lens of present day, but
545
:it is, it is not shameful.
546
:It is joyful and, Whether that's
a joy that you have or not.
547
:Just love what you love.
548
:Sara: See, you sound
a little high too now,
549
:Lacey: do!
550
:I do.
551
:You get start getting me to
talk about roads and how cool
552
:I think systems of roads are.
553
:And we'll get
554
:Sara: That's one of my
favorite season one highlights.
555
:You talking about roads.
556
:Oh my goodness.
557
:We're here for the wacky.
558
:I hope you y'all are
along for the wacky ride.
559
:You don't have to be wacky, but You
have to appreciate Wacky, because
560
:we're gonna dish that out every now
and then when you least expect it.
561
:Lacey: did I think this podcast
episode was going to end with,
562
::
563
:No, I didn't.
564
:But here we are and I'm so happy for it.
565
:Sara: that's why I love our talks.
566
:You never know what
we're gonna talk about.
567
:Did you know I was gonna talk about
chickens that were halfway between
568
:my house and my neighbor's house?
569
:You didn't know
570
:Lacey: out the binoculars
is a high point of my life.
571
:I have a screenshot.
572
:I'm going to post it.
573
:Like I, it just felt so,
so good in the moment.
574
:So genuine.
575
:.
Sara: So then we end it, you say, Thank you
576
:Lacey: Sara
577
:Sara: thank you, Lacey.
