Last week on Sharing the Middle, Lacey chatted with Kandice Shaw. They dove in deep into grief and life changes/balance. Fair warning, Lacey does cry, but its a great conversation that has deep meaning. Take a listen!
An episode about grief is actually very fitting for Lacey’s relationships with plants… She loves the idea of plants but can never seem to keep them alive.

If you woke up one day and discovered you could talk to plants, what would be the first thing you’d say to your houseplant?
Share yours on social media tagging the Joyful Support Movement or in the Village!
Lacey currently only has one houseplant she has been able to keep alive. She… would be terrified of what it had to say. Its too much pressure… so she’d probably say, “sorry, I’m doing my best.”
This is the actual plant, it felt important to prove that I do have one plant. It looks… rougher in this than my brain remembered but its ok, its fine, its fine. |

Having house plants can add instant life and joy to a room. Just like with all things joyful, they need some TLC to keep thriving.
- If you are looking to add plants, take a step by assessing the light in your home and desired difficulty level of care to make a plant match made in heaven. Take the quiz.
- If you have plants that aren’t thriving, take a step by asking a green thumb friend for some guidance. Or, check out the Planta app.
- If you want to chat with friendly fellow plant owners, take a step and join the Village and amplify the joy with others. (Psst- Sara loves all things plants and will happily share pictures of her lovelies!).

Whether you’re a natural green thumb like Sara or still learning the ropes like Lacey, remember that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to plant parenthood. We encourage you to embrace your unique plant journey, seek help when needed, and most importantly, find joy in the process of nurturing life, no matter how small or green it may be.
Now go out there and spread some joy!
