A little bit of Joyful Support directly in your inbox!
We’re gearing up for Christmas this week, so we wanted to reach out early since Sara and Lacey will be busy elves. While we’re Christmas households over here, we want to know more about your favorite traditions, no matter which holidays you celebrate.
Joy Happenings
Our Joyful Prompt today is rooted in stories of our past and the traditions that shape us.
As we approach the end of this calendar year, it’s important to think about the story you want to tell moving forward! You don’t need to do anything intense—no giant journal reflection for 2024, multiple vision boards, or strict New Year’s resolutions (that’s why we created the 7-day Easy Challenge!).
Consider this a gentle invitation to reflect on your year and where you want to go. Whether you write it down or share with us or loved ones, taking a moment for presence and intention can help keep you grounded during this busy season.
What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Lacey – Christmas is my favorite holiday. My parents always made it magical and special. We had a specific rhythm to our Christmas morning—one I’ve lovingly passed on to my children. It centers around lining up on the stairs and waiting until everything is in place before coming down to the Christmas tree. This includes the tree lights being on, Christmas music playing in the background, and most importantly, Mom having her cup of coffee.
Sara – Right after Thanksgiving, I roll out blank paper on the wall and draw the outline of a Christmas tree. As a family, we spend the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas writing things we’re thankful for in the tree (we call it the Thankful Tree). By Christmas morning, we get to see everything we’re grateful for, and it makes my little heart grow three times its size.

We hope you take time this holiday season to enjoy your traditions, make new memories, and find moments of joy. Whether it’s coffee on Christmas morning or writing gratitude on your wall, remember that the simplest moments often bring the most happiness.
