Your Weekly Dose of Joy: Overheard Giggles, Parental Pep Talks, and Free Piles

Weekly Joy

A little bit of Joyful Support directly in your inbox!

The people around us profoundly influence how we navigate our daily lives. We named the Joyful Support Community a “village” because we aim to cultivate a space where you feel welcome and understood.

You don’t need to join our village (though we’d love to have you) to experience this in your world. By drawing inspiration from others, overhearing amusing anecdotes, and finding accountability partners, you can create a joyful support system around yourself.

Let’s dive in!

Joy Happenings

Last week, Lacey had an inspiring conversation with Shannon Kline about self-love through chronic illness. Shannon shared personal insights on embracing oneself while managing ongoing health issues. Catch up here: Sharing the Middle with Shannon Kline. We encourage you to reflect on your own self-love journey.

In other news, Lacey appeared on “Java with Jimmy” this morning, discussing parental anxiety. The conversation explored struggles parents face with back to school, offering comfort and strategies for managing anxiety while raising children. Watch the full video on Facebook or Youtube.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve overheard in the past week? We all have those moments where we catch snippets of conversations that make us chuckle or even laugh out loud. Maybe it was a child’s innocent remark, a coworker’s witty comeback, or a stranger’s hilarious phone conversation.

Share your moment on our social media tagging us, in the Joyful Support Movement Village, or just responding to this email.

Sara took a step last weekend and had a Free Pile with her neighbor. It felt wonderful to let go of items that were no longer needed and the house feels a little bit lighter.

Going through our home items is an opportunity to pick the items we surround ourselves every day with intention, instead of accidental accumulation.

Tips on letting go of items, if you are ready:

  • Have a box ready to fill up (start small!)
  • Pick a defined area (kitchen cabinet, hall closet) or defined time (15 minutes)
  • Use an accountability buddy- a friend, a neighbor, or the Joyful Support Movement Village

Share your questions on letting go of items and let’s find solutions together.

Creating a supportive environment starts with small steps and sharing moments of joy. Whether it’s decluttering your space, sharing a funny overheard moment, or engaging in meaningful conversations about self-love and parental anxiety, every action contributes to building our collective village of support.

Now go out there and spread some joy!
