I've always loved the expression "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts". It feels like magic that one thing can be more than the elements that were added in. And I love magical feelings.
For years I had operated as a solopreneur handling every element of running a business. One of those versions looked very similar to JSM with courses and community. But it didn't work, I burned out hard and fast.
About to call it all quits and apply for an hourly job that brought me no joy, I joined a virtual class that was about working within your unique strengths. This is where the universe brought Lacey and myself together.
Fast forward to today, what Lacey and I have created in Joyful Support Movement is by far greater than the sum of our individual parts. I truly could never have dreamed of all the things Joyful Support has become today. By working together, we allow one another to shine in our strengths, and support one another in our weak spots. By letting go of my core belief that 'I can do it all and should do it all by myself', I opened myself up to a magical partnership with Lacey.
A New Partnership That Honors What We Both Believe
Today, we are over the moon excited to announce a partnership that will provide yet another greater result to help the joy ripple out into the world. Joyful Support Movement is partnering with Hot Mess Express to provide ongoing support to their community through courses, connection, and continued resources.
Hot Mess Express is a women-led nonprofit with chapters across the United States and a heart that beats for women who need a fresh start. They offer cleaning and organizing support with absolutely no judgment - just compassion, practical help, and a team that shows up. Since their founding, they've completed hundreds of missions, helping women who are navigating overwhelming seasons of life - chronic illness, postpartum challenges, grief, mental health crises, and everything in between.
Their mission is simple and powerful: give women the gift of a clean, organized space when life has become too much to handle alone. And they do it with kindness, community volunteers, and zero shame.
Where Hot Mess Express Ends, Joyful Support Begins
This is where our partnership comes in. Hot Mess Express offers an incredible fresh start - a reset moment that can feel absolutely life-changing. But we both know that lasting change needs more than a single day of support. It needs community. It needs tools. It needs a place to keep going.
That's what Joyful Support Movement provides.
After a Hot Mess Express mission, women who've been supported will have access to our Village community - a safe, judgment-free space where they can connect with others navigating similar challenges. They'll have access to courses designed for the messy middle of life, covering everything from home systems to managing chronic illness to releasing shame. And they'll have ongoing resources, encouragement, and a community that gets it.
Where Hot Mess Express leaves off in their mission, Joyful Support takes over. We're not trying to replace what they do - we're creating a bridge. A way for the support to continue long after the volunteers have gone home. A way for the relief and hope from that fresh start to grow into lasting ease and connection.
Why This Partnership Matters
Both of our organizations were built on the same foundation: the belief that no one should have to navigate life's hardest moments alone. We were both created because we've lived it - the overwhelm, the shame, the isolation of trying to hold it all together when everything feels like it's falling apart.
Hot Mess Express shows up with practical, hands-on help in the moment of crisis. Joyful Support Movement shows up with ongoing community and tools for the journey ahead. Together, we're creating something that neither of us could do alone. We're creating lasting support that meets women exactly where they are and walks alongside them as they move forward.
And that feels like the most magical kind of partnership - the kind where the whole truly is greater than the sum of its parts.
