Women Who Made Me
|Lacey
March is Women’s History Month, and it also happens to be my birthday month. My birthday is the day after International Women’s Day. I like to joke that we celebrate all women, and then all of that good will and energy created me. I started my podcast in December, and there were several women who I knew I wanted as guests, but I hadn’t made it happen yet. So, I started to think, why not make them a special series so I can highlight them? With March being Women’s History... Read more...

Is Self-Care Important?
|Lacey
Spoiler Alert: Yes, Self-Care is Important.   I almost hate talking and writing about Self-Care because of how it has been turned into a gimmick. It has become a quick note of something that you should do to survive a difficult phase, or something an employer tells its employees to do without giving them the actual tools/ability to do it.   There is also a chance someone is trying to sell you something. Which, totally guilty of here, but I’m not trying to sell you a bath bomb, so feels... Read more...
I am too excited about Air Fryers 2 years too late
|Lacey
My parents got me an air fryer as an early birthday present (because I asked, they're the best). I've thought about getting an air fryer for a long time but always talked myself out of it. Friends, I was wrong. I finally pulled the trigger because of the accessibility of it. Being able to quickly roast something that doesn't involve me getting out many pans, actually is a big deal for my current ability level. I got it last night and I've used it 6 times today. Not an exaggeration.... Read more...
Why The Mddl
|Lacey
All the marketing courses and gurus want me to really solidify my why so that I can ground all of my marketing content to serve that mission. I have written little snippets here and there, but I sat down to write something for myself and realized, why don’t I write it for everyone! If you haven’t heard of Start With Why, it’s a Simon Sinek book and concept. The video below is an explainer for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4ZoJKF_VuA&vl=en He talks about this golden circle. Here is the visual if you don't... Read more...

Digging Deeper on 100 Things That Make Me Happy
|Lacey
With the downer that has been my past few week’s posts, and in honor of Support from The Mddl releasing this week, I thought I would look deeper at one of my exercises in it. A few years ago, my sweet friend Zac challenged me to make a list of 100 things that Make Me Happy because I would often say the phrase, “that makes me happy.” I’ve made this list several times in my life and have added and deleted as my life changes. The beauty in it is... Read more...

For a woman who thinks about the middle a lot, I certainly struggle with the concept of moderation. Maybe this is just another reason why I struggle with the middle. Read more...

It’s the Most Middle Week of the Year
|Lacey
Read that in the “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” song cadence   This week is quite like a time vortex. It is like the ultimate middle.   Many people have this week off work, but there are also many people who are still working. For those who have the week from work – it’s a weird time of what day is it? What is open? Do we take the kids to daycare? Wait, did we eat lunch today? (Just to be clear, I am not a girl...
